Changing digit symbols

Use a digit script converter when you want to keep the number’s value and change its written symbols. For example, 123 becomes ١٢٣ in Arabic-Indic digits or १२३ in Devanagari digits. Each position still has the same decimal place value. The Arabic tool opens a dedicated reference for a clean whole number; that page explains its digits and offers a downloadable learning card.

Changing the number base

Use the base converter when the positions themselves follow a different base. Decimal 10 is binary 1010 because binary positions represent powers of two. This is a different operation from replacing digit shapes. The Number Systems page supports bases 2, 8, 10 and 16 and shows conversion steps for whole-number inputs. Select the source base before entering a value so letters and digits are interpreted correctly.

Writing a date in Roman numerals

Use the Roman date tool for day, month and year notation. Roman numerals combine symbols such as I, V, X and M instead of substituting one character for each decimal digit. Check the date order before copying the result: day–month–year and month–day–year can describe different dates. For symbol meanings and examples, visit the Roman numerals guide.

Numbers in words and symbol reference

If you need a number spelled out, use Number to Words. A word such as “three” and the digit ٣ are different written forms, so a digit converter does not provide a translation or pronunciation. To compare digit alphabets before choosing a tool, explore Numeral Symbols. That directory also includes systems whose rules require more than character replacement.

Check each tool’s input guidance when working with leading zeros, decimal marks, separators or large values. A digit conversion preserves a written representation according to that tool’s rules; a base conversion interprets a whole-number value. Calendar validation and number-word grammar belong to their respective tools. The converter cards above link directly to the available tools, so you can start with the operation you need.
